I received some information about the Tony Franklin system clinic and his application fee is two thousand dollars if you apply early. My question is would anyone spend that amount of money our of your own pocket?

Not a very useful type a credit in terms of applying it to a degree plan, say for a Master's program. It is just a fancy way of documenting CEU's, nothing more.

2000 thousand dollars come on man. There are retired coaches that will spend hours with you for free. They will meet with you week after week and day after day. Lets get real that guy is in it for the MONEY not the love of the game or to help coaches. Who is he anyway another HAL MUMME and Mike Leach rip off? Did he pay $2000 to learn all that he knew or did other coaches help him out for FREE? Sorry I got negative but thats TOO much. I would pay 100 dollars to go to a clinic if it lasted a weekend. Thats about it.

We call 2-3 colleges each spring and go spend some time with them (for free). Most are very willing to spend the time with high school coaches. Two years ago, Bowling Green helped us put our passing game together. We showed them what we had, they showed us what we didn't have and what we didn't need. In return, we attend their coaches clinic every year for $30, and learn something new and watch a few practices. This year Todd Dodge from South Lake is speaking - should be good!

I agree that visits are the way to go. You ccan watch cutups and have an actual discussion instead of listening to clinic talk. I have gone out of pocket for clinics but if I ever saw $2000 on a brochure it'd be in the trash can before I could take another breath.

From what I have heard about Coach Franklin's clinics they are excellent. Are they 2000.00 excellent, I don't think any clinic would be. He provides video for each position on all the drills and all the cutups on the air raid offense when he was the QB coach at Kentucky with Coach Mumme. Now that he is the OC at Troy State I would think he would not have to charge the 2000.00 to attend the clinic. Too much cash IMO.

from what I understand the 2000.00 he comes works with your players to start wtih. you bring your whole staff.
he has videos, cd roms, cutups, handout, playbooks, installation and you can call him during the season.
might change how that he is a oc at college again.

Wow, 2000! I spent just under $300 for the St. Louis Mega and I was questioning myself on that. Besides, I couldn't afford it even if I thought it was worth it. By the way, the St. Louis clinic was very good, so I thought it was worth it, but another 1700?

how much money spent for a clinic is directly proportional to the amount of FREE BEER involved.

depends on the topic
for that much money if the topic was "Making chicken salad out of chicken $hit" it would be well worth it! Would sell my liver to attend.
