I have never been a part of a program that has had any of these, but a coaching acquaintance of mine just bought a whole bunch for his entire team. We saw them at a 7on7 this summer and he told me they wouldn't be able to wear their helmets at the game because neither he (a guy who's been coaching football for 20+years) nor his staff could fit them to the kids' heads. He didn't seem to happy with them.
FWIW I guess.

We have several kids with them and from what I see there isn't a better helmet out there. I don't know how the coach couldn't fit these. It is the same as fitting any other helmet, with the exception of when it is on you pull the chinstrap tight and that tightens the helmets "air pads" to your head. It is really simple from what I have seen.
We probably have 5-7 helmets that the kids bought themselves from our supplier. Kids all love the comfort of them also.

The folks at Xenith have a program where the parents can help the school fund the purchase for their child. They get to keep the exact helmet until they graduate. We offered it to all 4 classes and ended up purchasing about 24 helmets. I'll let you know our experience after this season.
FWIW - our staff likes the fit and feel of the new Schutt ION 4D helmet a bit better. It's the helmet we give players that have had reoccuring concussions.

Just passing along what he said. Guy's a pretty well respected coach around here and he seemed very peeved at the product and especially at the reps and the company. I've heard other tales about those last couple things as well, but it is all just from coaches talking at clinics and the like.

One of my players has a grandpa that sells sporting goods. His grandpa bought him one and he likes it so far but we haven't started hitting yet. I guess we'll see how things turn out when the season is over.

I bought one for my son. He has been using it for 3 weeks now. He loves it. It took some adjusting but we got it to work. I had it too tight on his head at first, but after I adjusted the straps he hasn't complain one bit. His old helmet was Schutt DNA and he says there is no comparison.
The company that sold me the helmet showed me how to adjust everything. They would have fit it for him but we live 45 minutes away from the store, and I work just down the road so they just showed me what to do. Also I had a couple of questions for the company and posted them on Facebook and they responded within a few hours.
They are catching on in the Pros now. Matt Birk wears on, Ricky Williams has one now, Josh Cribbs also and the Rhodes Scholar from Florida State (can't remember his name) has one. Don't know if that makes any difference or not but just throwing it out there.
