Above the play of word (regarding the thread called what's wrong with us?) it's really something that surprised me a lot. I am amazed by the general fraternity of your profession (for me it's a hobby). Coach Huey, Ted Seay, Abe Mikell, Coach Calande, Brophy, fbdoc, OJW, coachbdub just to name a few have helped me in a way or an other since I log on this site 2 years ago... Most of the time I did not ask for anything... I just hang up the phone with a Coach of a D3 College in Indiana. We talked about a player I may recruit for my team. Coach said that they will be more than happy to help me out by sending video drills, game films... I did not know him before the phone call. He said the school could find me housing if I wanna come to see how they run their show... The doors look like they are always open. I don't know, may be they aren't afraid of me stealing anything because I coach in France... In Europe Coaches do not share their knowledge like that. So, it's a great feeling to be part of this coaching community... [That being said, I've been screwed one time but a son of a b!tch on here. I guess he's the black ship!!!] I'd rather be optimistic today and say that we as coaches are good men!!! ;D ;D ;D

Yeah, it's one of the things I was surprised to find out about the coaching "fraternity" when I started studying the game a few years ago- every coach shares with each other, and most even go out of their way to help their colleagues. And the few that don't will generally get shunned and won't have as great an opportunity to increase their knowledge anyways.

Yeah its something ive truly appreicated, especially on this board. Everyone typically seems more than willing to give any information they have to help other coaches out, especially those that are just starting out like myself.
I was really surprised when I went to my first clinic and everyone was giving out their emails and phone numbers during their presentations or offering coaches to come to their campus and visit to learn more. It kind of blew me away at first, but I think it needs to happen in coaching.

I think people who REALLY care about the game understand the importance of raising the bar and improving coaching across the country. The higher quality coaching we have at the youth and HS levels, the better off the game is in the grand scheme of things!

Just don't ask him for playbooks, video, cutups or other. I kid, I kid.
