Hey everyone...we are in the process of getting a letter put together to invite teams to a passing tournament held at our school in the summer next year...
What things should we include or not include in the letter that coaches like yourselves are looking for to determine whether you would like to go or not?
Basic idea for tournament:
1)..."Midnight Madness" format ...........BIG STEAK FRY in the early afternoon before the tournament starts for the players to socialize, hang out, etc... ...........It will be held at night, with generators to light the fields. ...........We will have FULL concessions open all night for food/drinks
2)...Teams are GUARANTEED 5 games: ...........3 games during pool play ...........2 games during tournament (minimum)
3)...2 different competition levels: ...........Blue Division = Smaller/Inexperienced teams ...........Silver Division = Larger/Experienced teams
4)...Keep out of the heat!!!! (Central Valley in June/July is 110+ during the day) ...........Pool play begins at 6:00 PM ...........Tournament begins at Midnight (puts the Championship Games at about 6:00 & 7:00 AM)
I know a couple of you will see the times and want to shy away, but the timetable is exactly the same as a day tournament (about 12-14 hours), but instead of it being out in the heat with players dehydrating/cramping/etc... it is just during the night when the weather is a lot more bearable.
Any input is greatly appreciated!

cq, Good idea about the Midnight Madness Tourney. No suggestions just congrats. Unfortunately, I think many coaches will shy away from the times.

How long does a 7-on-7 game last? Quarters or halve? Just wondering
