www.omaha.com/article/20100530/SPORTS/705309851#barfknecht-for-starters-gill-changing-kansas-mind-setI listened to Turner Gill's presentation at the Glazier clinic in KC this winter. Very interesting- he attributed his amazing turnaround at Buffalo- once considered the worst DI football program in America to Character, Chemistry and Developing Trust in his players. He didnt talk Xs and Os at all. He also talked about how much fun they had. Im looking forward to seeing how it turns out for him at bigger school and of course wishing the best for him.

I'm sold.
I have always believed that and tried to sell that. It's about people.
Yeah you gotta have solid schemes and all that, but you win with people.

Heard Turner Gill speak at the Ohio HS Coaches Clinic two years ago and he talked about all of this. Had some really good stuff.

KU, doesn't need a turnaround, that has already happened. They need a guy, such as Coach Gills to bring everybody together, get them to trust one another, and play for one another. In my mind, much like what Pete Carroll did at USC.
Coach Mangino coached them for nearly the entire decade of the 2000's and brought them as good of success as I've seen them have. But man, that guy was one big walking "politically Incorrectness."
From what I've read Coach Gills is a good man. However, if he doesn't win in the next 4 years he will be like everyone else who doesn't win-gone.

Doubt he gets four years to win. If he does not quickly they will replace him. Like it or not a lot of people still look at it like they were taking a chance on him. Also they have put a ton into facilities. Couple all that with the fact that Mangino did win, and that equals better win quickly.
