Hey Guys, We are lucky in that we got a building project approved prior to the real downturn economically. We now have our own nice new locker room and was wondering if you guys had some cool rules/traditions. We all know the normal ones// just looking for some innovative locker room rules you have used.
Thanks as always for all the help, dunc

we have a cleaning schedule for our locker room. soph, jv and varsity have 2 to 4 players and one coach each week clean the locker room after practice is over. the coach is responsible for seeing the job is done right and for picking up equipment that players have left out. it costs either 1 sprint or 1 dollar per piece of equipment left out. the money made goes towards a pizza party at the end of the season.
if the custodians come to me and say the bathroom and shower rooms are a mess the team does extra conditioning.
we take pride in our locker room. we even take a broom with us on the road and clean up after games the locker room we use.

one of the cool things that i have seen done with a locker room. is a little plaque in teh back of the locker for all -league or all section players. that way you build upon it and in twenty years, the kids say, hey, this locker has housed 10 all league guys in it and so on. a neat little tradition.

Pre-season testing: Top 10 bench press (how many times can you rep 150) and top ten 40 yard dashes.
We had a similar situation, except for us it was a weight-room. I have some "kids" graduated HS already in the National Guard who went to my HS. They see my last name and strike up a conversation if "That's me" on the top ten list in the weight room (Graduate in 2000).
I always thought that was pretty cool.
