Looking to get your favorite themes for the upcoming football season. Real ones, not jokes like:...
1. We have been to Mars that's why there is no sign of life there. 2. The Boogeyman checks for us under his bed every night. 3. We are what Willis was talking about. 4. Even MC Hammer can't touch us.

We are using the theme of TRADITION this season. Our HC saw a Marine speak at the St. Louis Glazier and he spoke about what tradition means and gave an acronym that I can't remember all the letters, but that is going to be the theme of our season. We are a program that hasn't seen a lot of success in the past decade in a town that has seen a lot of downs over the past fifteen years and we want to focus on building a new winning tradition.

The theme we used this past season I got from a poster I saw in the weigth room of LSU. Pay The Price
You Pay a Price for Getting Faster You Pay a Price for Getting Stonger You Pay a Price for Staying the Same
We had this on our summer t-shirts
When we finished the regular season as undefeated conference champs, we got new shirts that said
We Paid the Price for Getting Faster We Paid the Price for Getting Stronger We Paid the Price, and We Will Never Be the Same

We have had several over the past years:
ONE - all that was on the back of the shirt, team name and logo on the front. stood for a lot of stuff, where we wanted to be, how we wanted to play as one,
RESPECT - our first winning season
IRON SHARPENS IRON - when we wanted them to hold each other accountable on and off the field. Our first playoff apperance.
RELOAD - after we lost a lot of our returning players to graduation.
ACTION NOT WORDS - after we had a SR class that although talented had no leaders and underachieved as a team. CURAHEES - great meaning but had to explain it everywhere you go LAST MAN STANDING LEAVE NO DOUBT NO LIMIT

We used "Leave No Doubt" this past season. Seemed to work (13-1). See above the #15 the little "LND". Players liked it.

I'm working right now as our Head Track and Field coach and I'm dying for a good slogan for the back of our T-shirts this season. Come on guys, give me something.....
Two years ago a local school had "Anything less than the best is a fellony" on their MS track shirts. That cracked me up.

1. NO WORK, NO SUCCESS KNOW WORK, KNOW SUCCESS
2. HARD WORK BEATS TALENT WHEN TALENT DOESN'T WORK HARD.
I have seen both of those on track t-shirts.
Our high school track shirts this year have FINISH STRONG on the back.

Ha, this reminds me of the high school track team when I was in school. The kids made up a shirt completely on their own.
On the back, it had, in big, bold letters: I beat a Kenyan once.
Under that, it had a clipart-style picture of a cop beating some guy with his nightstick....the kids got in trouble, if I recall.

We are going "old school" this year. Our t-shirts will have "Est. 1923" on them and we will use this theme from day one. I'm hoping to instill in our kids a sense of the "old" ways where athletes didn't make excuses, didn't talk back, spoke with their pads, were committed to "we not me," etc.
We're going to look at film from way back throughout the season to break up the monotony of mid to late season, bring in some guys from our championship teams in the 70s, etc.

We are working on this as well. Our HC has asked for suggestions for our slogan- he wants to get large posters printed with the state championship ring we did NOT win this year (lost the title game). We are looking for a good way to say "This is what we lost" and motivate ourselves to make another run and get it done this year.
Any suggestions?
