What have your drop and retention rates for your youth teams over the last 3 seasons?
Im trying to establish a baseline number nationally.
Drop is a kid who quits after attending the first practice- doesnt complete the season.
Retention is % of kids that come back to play on your team or org in the next season.
Perfect attendance is the % of kids on your team that end up with perfect practice and game attendance for the year.
For 2009: D- 1% R- 94% PA-18% - all time low, huge flu epidemics
2008 D-3% R-92% PA-81%
2007- D-3% R-96% PA-77%

2006
D =0 R =95% PA =98%
2007 D =0 R =95% PA =95%
2008
D =0 R =95% PA= 98%
Never had a Player quit The only reason it is not 100% retention is that kids would go onto other teams or have moved
On attendance I always told the parent that Football is the ultimate Team Game and that if they miss a practice or a game it is a piece of the puzzle that will leave us incomplete. Plus we only practiced for about 1-1.5 hours a day. We had fun and got the job done.
