I've read just about all of them mentioned so far and by far my favorite is When the Game Stands Tall. I really enjoy the Army vs Carlisle and The Real Americans for the history of the game as well as the history of America. Season for Life and The Long Snapper are by the same author and are great reads as well. Our Boys and 12 Mighty Orphans are good as well.
If you like long books, Vince is a phenomenal read.

Not a football book by try "Blink" It is about making split second decisions and how to learn how to trust your "gut" instinct. Very interesting and though it sounds boring but has a ton of great stories.
As for football, my favorite is still Civil War. Any Michigan coaches or Tony Annese (sp?) fans should look at No Quitters Here, story of Montrose football from 88-98. The All Americans-great story tieing in the 1941 army-navy football game and stories of the players in WWII.

I enjoyed Murphy's The Sweet Season. Book covers the St. Johns (MN) football team. Interesting look at FB at the D-3 level.

One Great Game about Delasalle HS vs. Cal Poly High - great read. Marcedes Lewis, Maurice Jones Drew, several other NFL'ers played in that game. Year of the Dog - about Gus Malzahn's 2005 Springdale bulldog team with the Fab five recruits. Writing is not great, but it gives some insight into malzahn, a successful highschool program and the college recruiting process.

I know it's already been mentioned, but When the Game Stands Tall is a fantastic book and I'd recommend it to anyone. Just got done reading Bearcat's Rising last month, about the rise of football at the University of Cincinatti and really enjoyed it. "Do You Love Football?!" which is Jon Gruden's autobiography was also a pretty interesting read.
