I am very lucky to have 3 fine institutions with in a 40 min drive and we are very friendly with all 3 staffs so we bring a dozen or so kids on a saturday to watch local colleges. most of the time we are right on the sidelines so the kids get to watch right up close college football at the d 2 and d 3 level.
I was wondering how many of you guys do this? to me it is win win. kids get to see college football and college coaches help us plus get a foot in when recruiting.

I wish I had more connections to SJSU, Stanford, Cal than I do, since they're all very easily reached from here. I have taken a few to see my alma mater when they come down to give Menlo College their annual beating

I take my kids as well. We go see a top 10 nationally ranked junior college in our area quite often. We run the same offense and defense as them so its good to see their kids run it better than my kids!

Cal does 1 game a year where they invite a bunch of high schools to come to their game. Its always against some POS team that they will whoop. We went 2 years straight about 2 or 3 years ago with the team. It was totally free, just something the HC or AD needed to contact the people from CAL and they gave us like 30 tickets or maybe 40. The kids had fun, but not that many went, we took maybe 30 kids, and thats out of all 3 levels (90+kids). Our kids just dont get excited for stuff like this.

We try to take all of our seniors to one every year.

we took a bus trip to a college game. seeing the teams warming up, kids got excited because of all of the drills they recognized. its the little things sometimes that create sparks in your own program.
we had a great time.

Luckily we are close to a major D1 school and actually work the concession stands during Home games for a fundraiser. So typically 5-6 kids get in free for the games, yes they have to cook food but we give them breaks throughout the game to go watch several minutes of the game near field level. Pretty cool in my opinion. I would have loved to do that when I was in high school.
Also take a group of kids to the state finals each year to show them were we want to end up soon

We've had a pretty sweet deal for our program, the last two years one of the local mining companies has invited us to bring about 5-6 players and 3-4 coaches to watch games at the U of Arizona. what has made it even sweeter is that we watched the game from one of the luxury sky boxes. It was a great time to bond with the players as we watched the U of A beat CMU and some of our players got to meet Dan Majrle (former PHX Suns player) because we were next to the CMU box. If you can see if someone can sponsor your team to do something similar. I hope to get us to at least 1 more game in the bleachers at the U of A and a few JUCO games.

Over the last few years I've taken players to spring practices in the region. The kids, being so close to the action, seeing the player size/speed, and pace/effort of practice, has been real eye opener for the kids. I felt this has been more benefitial than any game that I've taken them to watch.

I have offered numerous times over the last 3 years. I have had 3 takers. We have one of the best div III schools in the nation, 20 min away (St John's) and a very good Div II school 30 min away (St Cloud State), plus the U of Minn ( 90 min away) and kids really don't have an interest to go.

I would love to take my players to a college practice more than I would a UT game. But, it would be fun to take them to a game after they saw the blood, sweat & tears that goes into being game ready.

I have wanted to, but didn't know if I could run afoul of any NCAA recruiting regs. I'm a booster and would rather not do anything close to improper.

Yes every year we take our team to a local college game. We are a small school and our team is usaully no more than 25 so we take them along with the JV. It usually ends up about 20-22 kids and we take them ou to eat great day and experince

I think we got our kids and family members in for 5 bucks each maybe. memorable experience for all, the college even laid out a "tailgate" for us. we had pizza and wings and sodas ready when our bus pulled up, it was cool.

We have 2 D3 and a D1AA right here so we have gone a few times. We went this year to a game since one of our former players was playing in town.
