Hi guys I am taking over a program that has had great talent but just poor structure and well the inmates ran the prison type of situation.
This program is looking for a change our staff is that change young energetic passionate and knowedgable.
What have you guys used as turn around startegies? Or messages for your programs things that you hang your hat on for the season. A message to build around.
We have some as a staff like the TCU message from a season ago "WE HUNT TOGETHER"
But I am curious as to what ideas everyone on here has or has seen?

"Work hard if you want to win."
It's really just that simple.

Here are a couple we have used.
"The Harder you Work the Harder it is to Surrender"
We not me - this is what we always use at the end of every meeting, lifting session, game, practice.
Theme we used this year for our team that I got from a poster I saw in a picture of the LSU weightroom. We were 3-6 last year, mostly due to a lack of dedication on the part of most of our team. Our program is a traditional winner, but last year's group lost sight of what it takes.
Pay the Price
You Pay a Price for Getting Faster You Pay a Price for Getting Stronger You Pay a Price for Staying the Same.

First year = "Whatever It Takes" and "If It Is To Be, It Is Up To Me"
I also give them a one-page handout ("Message of the Week") this time of year and have a quote on board in weihgt room.
When practice starts have a "Quote of the Day" on practice plan.

DESERVE SUCCESS
We were able to talk about the difference between just wanting to win and the things that you need to do to deserve being successful - great message for our kids who had a strong sense of entitlement!

Corps Values - Honor, Courage, Commitment
This was one of the MANY mottos we had to learn in the Marine Corps.
I've turned it into Core Values.

This year we are using ''Be Accountable''. To make the point, this is written in backwards on their workout shirts so it can only be read in the mirror to emphasise the need to look at yourself and take responsibility.

We've used several I've already seen on here. Two that we used when we were rebuilding to emphasize the importance of team "One team, one heartbeat" and "If you don't believe, you don't belong!"

There are so many angles and catchy phrases you can use, but I have always hung my hat on these two:
HARD WORK
and
DO THINGS THE RIGHT WAY
I think those two categories can encompass everything anyone needs to be successfull in any area of their life.
I always file all of the other slogans that I use under those two headings.

Took over a down program this past seaon. We went with "Count Me In" to try and get the kids to buy into what we are building as a program.
