Hey guys, I have just had a very good first semester with our football team (team GPA up from a 2.7 to a 3.2) and I want to start recognizing and rewarding our players for thier hardwork in the classroom as well. Our mascot is the Cowboys, and I'm drawing a blank as to some "catchy" names for awards. I mean, " Acamdemic Cowboy" doesn't really fit does it? Any ideas, probably something from the Wild West, or something, idk?

There are a ton you can do with wild west or cowboy terminology. "Sharp Shooter" = Highest GPA "A+ Corral" = All kids with GPA Above 3.5 Coming up with awards for the cheerleaders with this same system could be fun, but doing that for the "little ladies" would probably get you in trouble though...

We call it the "Academic Achievement Award."
Not too catchy, but it's an award worth getting. They get a nice certificate and we get one of our local banks to donate 4, $100 savings bonds. The highest GPA in each class wins.
