7 of the 10 teams that played in the Ca. state championships were private schools. My hat is off to Oceanside and Rocklin [2 of the public schools] for their showing in the big game. Rocklin played a great game considering that they didn't have the use of their starting QB. Nevada Union would have been a great selection. Great Coach! As for the state play-off system, unfortunately it is the only one we have which is still great, but it really isn't a play-off system! It really almost looks like a play-off for the private schools.Maybe we should have one for private schools and one for public schools? I. guess I will at least get a response from the private schools coaching sector. I would also agree that the central section seems to get left out. BTW - I think Grant High School would have beat Servite! Oceanside and Grant seem to have many of the same type of athletes. Unfortunately, Ca. just has to many high schools for a true state play-off system. At least we have something!
