I was creating a team on my XBOX and I got to thinking...What is the greatest possible option football team that can be assembled? I wanna hear what everyone has to say. If you could put together an ultimate all-time option attack roster, who would be on it? I can't say much because I don't know a lot about the teams in past decades. Who's the greatest option coach of all time? just wondering.

From college players, and I am limiting this to my teen and adult years:
QB--Tommie Frazier FB--Ron Dayne Slots: Reggie Bush, Desmond Howard
The WRs don't really matter that much so you can put any two all-time greats there as long as they block and are unselfish.

Since you probably need big names then what style of option? Wishbone? How about Darrell Royal, Barry Switzer, or Mal Moore? Veer? Bill Yeoman. Freeze? Willie Jeffries.

Bo Jackson was a pretty good back in the wishbone in his day.

I would have Vince Young (Texas) and Tommie Frazier (Nebraska) rotating at qb. I would have Earl Campbell (Texas) and Jim Brown (Syracuse) rotating at fb. I would rotate Eric Dickerson (SMU) and Barry Sanders (Oklahoma State) at one slot, and Billy Sims (Oklahoma) and Gale Sayers (Kansas) at the other. I would like my chances!

Now that I think of it, how could I leave out Tony Dorsett (Pitt) and Bo Jackson (Auburn) as slots, and Herschell Walker as another fullback? And throw in Tim Tebow as another option quarterback.

I'd just take the entire wishbone offense Oklahoma had when Jamel Hardaway was running the wishbone there. If I'm adding to that depth chart..........Dee Dowis from Air Force, he was a bad a$$ option QB. Jerome Bettis and Earl Campbell would be my FB's, those two would wear people out on the dive.

Qb- Eric Crouch Hands down... he made so many amazing plays... he gives white kids hope that maybe they could be athletic. He makes tebow look like a JV Qb... sorry Tim Tebow(Chuck Norris) fans

I have to second jhanawa, Jamelle Holieway from Oklahoma was the shizznit. The best I ever saw. I believe Spencer Tillman was a RB there at the same time.
Dee Dowis and Darrian Hagan from Colorado would be my back ups.
Even though I never saw him play, the old timers I've talked to said J C Watts was a damn good one.

crouch was awesome. so was tommie frazier. i owuld have to put ladanian tomlinson in the mix somewhere... he was so explosive in college (translated well to next level, too). maybe ricky williams @fb and herschel walker. used to enjoy watching marcus dupree when i was young, he was very talented (although not an all time great... i was just brainstorming.)

Speaking of those OU guys how about Charles Thompson? He was pretty good too when he wasn't selling cocaine. Those were the good ol' days. You had the SMU death penatly a few years before, and then Switzer's boys at OU. I really liked that book back in the day. Watching the OU teams in the 80s is one of the reasons I guess I like option football so much.

We are talking about on the field. LP was a stud(a complete moron off the field), Crouch quit in college and then multiple times after that.

QB-Mike Vick/Crouch as backup FB- Tim Tebow! withe Bettis or Bo Jackson (toss up) as their backup. Slots-Barry Sanders, Reggie Bush backed up by Thurman Thomas and Percy Harvin. WR- Shannon Sharpe and Ed McAffery (we runnin' the option bro, I want blockers not catchers) OL- ANY OL FROM WHEN OSBOURNE WAS HC AT NEBRASKA!!!!!! OR Last year's UF National Championship team with Tebow at QB, Harvin, Rainey and Demps at Slot. The only thing you'd need to find them would be a FB, and we'd take the TB at Stanford.

Conrad Dobler would have made a pretty good Option Center! Jerry Kramer could have dipped and ripped good, too.
