That's just pure class, right there.

Wow....I don't really know what to say.. That's just totally out of line.. And such a minor suspension? I don't get it, I really don't.
It makes it kind of hard to preach playing defense violently when this is the kind of sh-t that's going down.

Defensive players are always getting nailed when they do something dirty- rightfully so, in this case. The suspension should be a full game, imo. But, it seems offensive players almost never get the hammer dropped on them when they play dirty. Anybody remember this incident?
That o-lineman should've been ejected at the very least.

Well, that'll probably cost Spikes a million or two when he gets drafted.

The only personal foul I ever got was in defense of my running back from a nut-tweaking DL who would grab his junk on the bottom of the pile.

That's just pure class, right there. Which one, Spikes trying to gouge out the guys eye?....or Meyer suspending him just for the 1st half against Vanderbilt....50/50 if you ask me

I got a finger bit at the bottom of a pile one time. I don't agree with the punishment, should be worse.

My opinion of Urban Meyer is really dropping lately. Firth the alleged Percy Harvin punches a coach and nowhe basically lets Spikes off for eye-gouging.
Really makes me think "Urban's Way" is a crock of {censored}.

After thinking a while I'll add that he's certainly done a poor job disciplining his high profile players. Especially when it's freakin' Vandy. Go out on a limb and suspend him for the whole game, I think you'll manage.

I was thinking the same thing, about it being lenient. I'm not saying this is true, but do you think the coaches might have told them to engage in this type of play? Just a theory, I mean, if you tell them to do this, and they do it, then get caught, how much will you punish them? It's not like Vanderbilt is good (2-7, 0-5 in conference), he could have been suspended for the whole game. Just my conspiracy theory.

I don't think so, there's WAY too much to risk by ordering your players to do something like that, if something leaks out you're done. And if the player was injured seiously , he'd have a lawsuit, and possible criminal charges on his hands.

Well, that'll probably cost Spikes a million or two when he gets drafted. Till he pulls a Crabtree, and holds out till he gets what he wants next year

On the youtube page there was a statement that said Spike has injured earlier in the game. Does anyone know if he went out of the game earlier? The statement was claiming Spikes was poked in the eye. Big game and things get heated. Kid get poked and decides to pay someone back.
I do NOT agree with Spikes doing it. I agree Meyer should have just pulled him for the Vandy game. I am just wondering if something earlier set him off. I think there is a difference between a player that is just dirty player and one that gets caught up in something.

In any event, it's a move due to outside/media pressures.
