I know common scores aren't always an accurate indicator, but we're facing a team on the road that put a beatdown on a team that beat us by 30.
Any words of wisdom to get the kids to believe? Any quotes or themes?

We have the # 9 team in the state this week and then in the first round we will have the # 5 team. We are in the same boat. We will be working to convince them all week. I think the first thing is for the coaches to believe.

Best of luck. You don't have to be better than them for the entire season, for the entire week, just 48 minutes!

Any quotes or themes? Tell them that there are things that coaches can do to help them. (shorten the game) Then explain that execution and a good week of practice are paramount. And of course the old, "They tie their shoes just like you do" speech

Coach There realy isn't any magical quote, story that will make them play better. We were in this situation alot this year and when we played a team we know was alot better than us, we spent the whole week focusing on US rather than them. I told my guys "we can't control how they will play, but we can control how we will play". I would focus on our execution, and emphasizing that the team that makes the least amount of mistakes will win. Also, make sure to tell them to have fun, its the playoffs and not everyone gets a chance to be there. Good luck

best chance for upset is to win special teams.have some form of onside Kick(despite giving them field position) and have a pass and run fake punt ready.. fake reverse on kick off(easy). find a way to block a punt (bring 10)....and defense swarm and punch the ball out..

Use the Herb Brooks "Miracle on Ice" Speech. You'll need to provide them with some background, since many coaches weren't even around in '80!
