[glow=red,2,300]How did everyone do this week?[/glow]
We had a very hard fought defensive battle, our offense struggled a bit, but their defense was really really good so I don't want to take anything away from them!
We are 2-0 after a 14-6 win.

Week 4 for us - we took on a non-conference opponent that was 3-0 coming into the game. Our defense stuffed them and we dominated statistically (about 150 total yards for us to about 30 for them - about 8 first downs for us to only 1 or 2 for them), but the offense continues to struggle, so regulation ended in a 0-0 tie. In overtime, they went on offense first. On 3rd down from about the 6 the threw a TE pop pass (they are a DW team) that hit the kid in the facemask, but he couldn't hold on. They settled for a FG. We drew up a play in the dirt during the break to take advantage of their DEs crashing on our power play, and had the QB take it himself after faking power - he did and took it all the way in on the first play. We won 6-3 and improved to 3-1 on the year. That was the 3rd nailbiter in a row, but at least we won them all.

7th-8th Grade Won 36-0 (up 21-0 first quarter) 5th-6th Grade Won 48-14 (up 20-0 first quarter) 3rd-4th Grade Lost 34-6
So far 8-1, not quite our standard, lots of work to do but lots of positives. My last year working with this many teams, like the Dutchboy with the {censored} thing.

We are a 7th grade school team, and we had our first road game of the year. We won 30-22 against a inner city school with great atletes. We are now 2-0 this year with a tough game this Thursday.

This is week one for us! We lost to a very good team 20-0. Part of the problem is that we came out flat in the 1st half! We played better the 2nd half, kept them out of the end zone! I'm still Frustrated about the loss this afternoon.

My last year working with this many teams, like the Dutchboy with the {censored} thing. I think you misspelled " {censored}". Either that or the robocensor has a spelling problem or is programmed extra-careful.

We looked a little lethargic and complacent this past Saturday but still won 27-0. Despite being 3-0 and outscoring our opponents 80-6, we still have a lot of room for improvement, particularly offensively, with our option and passing game. We're working hard on improving our focus for a very important stretch of games over the upcoming weeks.

Coach,
We started out 0-2 last year before finishing the regular season 5-3. We were very young and inexperienced last year but it turned out to be one of those rare occasions where we really did improve steadily each time out. We are fortunate to have some real talent on this year's team, including arguably our league's best player, so don't think for a second that I've had much to do with our success so far! Like all of us, I just try to put our kids in a position to be successful each week and let them take care of the rest...
Our big games are right in front of us in weeks 5 and 6. Hopefully we'll be playing our best football by then!

Finally had our first game today after the season start date being pushed back a little. We played hard but our kids lost 7-0. We went against a great team but I think the heat here hurt us more than anything. Their offense had the ball the ENTIRE first quarter, and of course was becoming exhausted. Then of course, you have the kids that arent paying attention and just stay on the field no matter what we call for, so we had to burn some timeouts to get them off in time. Had two parents call my assistant after the game saying that we should let him coach cuz we obviously really need the help. And of course their kids are the ones that dont ever know what to do and are only starting on defense cuz they cant remember when else to be on the field. We didnt get dominated and actually had a kid get tackled right at the goal line as time ran out.
We got three days to practice though cuz starting on Thursday, we have a gauntlet of games, with 4 games in 8 days. It will be fun to see how it goes.

We got three days to practice though cuz starting on Thursday, we have a gauntlet of games, with 4 games in 8 days. How did that get scheduled? Is the circus coming to town and setting up on the league's only field 9 days from Thurs. for the following month? Did you enter your team into competition in both a Saturday league and a Thursday league? Adult football teams would sometimes go barnstorming and wind up with road schedules like that. In recent the past decade, the NY Sharks scheduled games less than 48 hrs. apart, but only one weekend a season.

I dont know how, but thats the way things end up. We have a game Thursday, Saturday, Monday, and Thursday again. So no practice time till after the Monday game, and they are against tough opponents, but I think we can win a couple of them.
