Age 12-13 Won 38-20 (have yet to punt this season, lost fumble going in on other teams 20)
Age 10-11 Won 46-6 , up 30-0 at end of first quarter could have easily been 80-0
Age 7-9 Won 20-6
2 of my 3 teams have quite a bit of work to do, the other seems to ge hitting on all cylindars early

We also have a lot of work to do but are pleased to be 2-0, winning 19-6 in week one and 34-0 this week. Only one day in pads this past week due to a lot of long overdue rain! The "Pistol" mesh looks pretty solid now. Looking to install veer and speed option this week to complement our base run game. Our passing game has not progressed as quickly as I had hoped but still offers us a great deal of potential at this point. Defense has been simple and solid so far as well. Bigger challenges ahead for us in the coming weeks though.
Just trying to get better as a team at every practice and at every game like everyone else on this board... I hope the season is going well for all of you and that you're having some fun with your kids as well, regardless of how many W's you have so far!

Week 1 for us. . . 50-32 Win. Defense held them to only 8 points in 1st half. They made some adjustments that clearly worked well in the second half.
4 different kids scored, definitely not a one trick pony!
Glad to hear of your 2-0 records too guys!

Week 3 for us. We got our butts handed to us 27-0 by a far superior non-conference team week 1. Week 2 we struggled on offense, but our defense stepped up against a conference opponent and we won 8-0 on a pick-six by our safety. Week 3 our offense finally woke up some, winning 20-16 against another conference opponent - we scored the winning TD with less than a minute to play. The winning score was set up by a completion on a 32-yd fade on a perfectly thrown pass (the ball actually traveled 46 yards in the air by my calculations - right on the money - I'll post a clip of it later when I get some time). Very exciting game. We still have a ton of work to do - we're nowhere close to where we want to be yet.

We are also 2-0, We won our first 13-0 Kids got sloppy the second half. The second was a good outing 26-7. You got to love it when you play your MMP's for the whole 4th qtr and the other team can't score on you. I think it will give them some confidence. Plus a couple of them really stepped up and will see more time because of it.

Started out with lots of hope for the season, however after seeing the first two teams. I'm not very optimistic; much better athletes and about 20-40 lbs heavier at every position. We are a team of basically 9 year old small rookies with 4 kids who played last year we have one player over 90 lbs. (8-9 year old league)
First Game: Lost 34-14
Second Game Lost 36-16
3rd Game Won: 28-26
First two teams are 3-0 and very athletic and large. 3rd team was closer to us in talent but I thought overall they had more talent, our wedge and defensive adjustments came together and dominated the 2nd half. We were down 20-6 at half time and came back to win. I'm hoping our high repetition job specific practices will catch us up by playoff time.

We were down 20-6 at half time and came back to win. You came back from a 14-point halftime deficit to win? Wow!! Congratulations, coach - that pretty much never happens at the youth level, especially with the younger kids. I've been coaching youth football for 16 years and have seen several hundred games over that time frame and I can count on my fingers the number of 2-TD comebacks I've seen, and almost all of them were with the 11-12, 12-13, or 13-14 yr-old teams. Good job and good luck with the rest of the season.

Won 13-8 vs a team that beat us twice last year. We couldn't do anything correct except wedge block so wedge we did! Got to fix the rest of the offense though.

Midgets, Week 1: 42-0, Week 2: 14-0, option is looking good but need to work on our passing game more....
Frosh, Week 1: 50-0, Week 2: 6-34 (actually should have won but managed to stink it up in every conceivable way) we face a very TOUGH team this week but we will give better EFFORT this week, guaranteed!
Update: Frosh Week 3 won 20-18, made a great comeback drive to win the game. Started out horrible but stayed in it with much better effort than the week prior, we got the ball back with 3:44 after they scored to go ahead 18-12. Went no huddle down the field and scored with over a minute left.

Thanks Coach Doug, it was a great win for our team. One of the factors that help us was we got the Wedge Rolling and had my starting wing back show up at half time because his dad ran out of gas on the way to the game. Also got our defense doing a little more blitzing bring some agression. We scored on opening drive of the 2nd half and you could feel the momentum change.

Week 4 for us - we took on a non-conference opponent that was 3-0 coming into the game. Our defense stuffed them and we dominated statistically (about 150 total yards for us to about 30 for them - about 8 first downs for us to only 1 or 2 for them), but the offense continues to struggle, so regulation ended in a 0-0 tie. In overtime, they went on offense first. On 3rd down from about the 6 the threw a TE pop pass (they are a DW team) that hit the kid in the facemask, but he couldn't hold on. They settled for a FG. We drew up a play in the dirt during the break to take advantage of their DEs crashing on our power play, and had the QB take it himself after faking power - he did and took it all the way in on the first play. We won 6-3 and improved to 3-1 on the year. That was the 3rd nailbiter in a row, but at least we won them all.
