Anybody got any good alternatives for wristbands? We would like to no-huddle but the cheapest wrist coaches we can find are $6+. Just don't have the coin to pop for them right now. Any other suggestions? Can 10-12 year olds learn a verbal code system?

Hand signals. If you use a number system it is super easy. Taught our kids a hand signal for each number 0-9 and a couple for passes. Fast and simple

I've checked them out Dave. They are a team dealer and you have to place a $500 order to get that price.
I was thinking if we could come up with a verbal code we could put a wristband on the QB and let him call the play, that way we wouldn't need a full team's worth of wristbands.

I have used a hand signal system with 8 and 9 year olds before but I much prefer using wristbands and a whiteboard.
Hand signals can be done though. What we did when we used it was always signed everything we verbalized.

Really? I got an email from the rep yesterday that telling me about the team dealer stuff. He directed me to the individual website but the price for the bands was like $8 there.

Swear, just got them in the mail. They were ugly. Have a huge N on them. But they will work. Just go thru the order process then at the end they will ask you if its individual or team. Act like you are a team and just give the rep your info. She told me $100 min order.

I may try the taped laminated cards as a backup because the writs coaches are HUGE and I'm sure I'll lose a couple on the field when they fall off.
hell, I'm tempted to have one of my kids 'lose' one by the other teams sideline so I can switch cards at halftime and score a couple easy tds.

I'm in with coach Morris, we use hand signals to speed up play calling. But we are a younger team with not that many plays as mabey an older team.

Make em....we did one year, use contact paper, or laminated 3x5 cards, looked like crap, but worked. We just taped them on before the games.
Changed them at halftime
