I hope this is ok to share here ...., My wife got news today that there is some possibility that her pregnancy could be more complicated than its been and possibly even put the baby at risk for neural tube defects (various birth defects of the spinal cord and brain). We lost a baby to still birth in 1999 and we do not want to go through that again, we ask that you pray to give us strength to cope with things no matter how they go.
We have an ultrasound scheduled for Monday.

I will keep you in my thoughts! My wife and I are pregnant right now too and I do not care what anyone says, this is one of the most difficult times for a husband. The reason I believe that is you see your wife in pain and not feeling well and there is nothing you can to make it better. Being football coaches we like to be in control and there is nothing we can do at this point but hope and support. Best of luck to you and I will pray all goes well for your family!

My wife and I will keep you in our prayers. We had a similar scare with our most recent pregnancy. We went in for our first ultrasound and they saw something that was a red flag for a syndrome, it started with a T but I can't remember right now, anyway the ultrasound showed cysts of spinal fluid on the brain. They said that was normal and they clear up, but if they are beyond a certain size it is an indicator. They rushed us to the hospital for another ultrasound on a new machine. That gave us some relief as they measured smaller there. We were talked to about various tests they could run to give us the odds and they talked to us about various options, but for us we were just going to ride it out and see. We only told about two people because I didn't want to have to talk about it all the time...but man it was all I thought about. To this day my family and my best friends don't even know this ever happened. Six weeks later they had cleared up...but all I did was worry until the day he arrived healthy. During both of our pregnancies all I could do was worry, barely was able to enjoy the moment...heck, during that first year I worry myself to death of SIDS. I'm hoping and praying things work out for you and your wife...I hope you get to feel relief when all of this is passed.
