Several years ago we were turned on to Bostonian Leather Lotion to condition our footballs by a former player who went to be a manager at a D1 school. It made the balls very tactified and they lasted for years. Last summer we ran out of our supply and went to get more. The lotion was in a different bottle but the store promised it was the same stuff..it was not. It was more of a lotion and made the balls slippery.
Does anyone else condition their footballs? What do you use?
It really made a huge differnce and we would like to condition our footballs with the right stuff. Thanks in advance for any help.

The saddle soap works good, esp. for use after it rains to keep the balls from drying up.

I had never heard of conditioning footballs. Got the head job at a new school and one of the assistant coaches would ask ever day when are you going to wax the balls? A week later, I figured out he was for real. We use ball wax from the local sporting goods store.
It's tradition now for the new guy to be the ball waxer.

Hi tango would you mind me asking what the ball wax is called and where to get it. I have seen my coaches using it but I can't figure out what it is.. It makes the balls really dark and tacky

We have used saddle soap in the past, and we dont condition the balls every year.
