Coaches,
We are looking to change up our pre-game warmup routine. We have been doing the same old thing for years and would like to hit the guys with something new.
I have been seeing a move to warming up without shoulder pads as well.
Any help or suggestions on what you do that might be different or just effective would be helpful.
Thanks!

Why change? What do you not like about current warm ups?

Specialists for about 15 minutes.
When whole team joins, dynamic stretch for about 10 mins.
Individual for about 5 minutes.
Group (QBs throwing combo routes to WRs and RBs vs. DBs and Lbs; DL and OL working together) for about 10 minutes.
Team for about 10 minutes.
Back to locker room.

Spartancoach,
The routine has just become "stale". I have also noticed that the guys don't need as much "contact" in pregame - they are anxious to hit the other team, not their teammates!
I also figure by eliminating shoulder pads we can shorten the warm-up period. I think it gets a little long, especially when you go back in the locker room and sit around for 15-20 mins before the officials come get the capts.
Just some thoughts....
