Is anyone out there familiar with Bill Renner from Virginia?
I ran across this video last night.. and I just had to wonder..
Found it under "5 wide passing attack"
But, 90% of the plays they are in a 2x2 formation..
He starts off with how "HE" invented this offense.. and how it has done this and done that.. and even cured some illnesses..
He then goes on to talk about why he never uses a TE.. At the 2:40 mark.. there is a TE!!!
He then explains that the reason it is called the "5 wide" attack.. is that 5 receivers go out every time..
So I was like.. ok.. so he has a back.. but always sends him out.. but then.. I see backs staying in and blocking!!
Then it all comes out... I visit the website that he suggests.. and "his" package is only $200..
If you are going to tell me something to in an attempt to spend $200.. at least be accurate about it..

I did a Nike Clinc for Bill in Northern Virginia in 2006, he was a great guy, treated me very well.

There must be some misunderstanding here, I thought this is the guy you were talking about Your guy has no beard.
All joking aside, I think it is his poor choice of words, not his ability as a coach. Poor choice of words "we created" and things like that. If he would have used, "we developed," or "we adapted," it would have not seemed to sound so arrogant.
Dave is a good guy, and he vouches for him. But I totally see what you are saying here airraider.
The guy does have some good looking players though. I might chose to say I was Chuck Norris if I had players that looked like that.
I don't know, maybe this coach DID invent this offense, but he doesn't look 100 years old. Oh well. But, he has no beard. OJW

I haven't seen the DVD and probably won't because it's not our kind of offense. I saw his team on video a few years ago. Because we were watching the other team I didn't pay much attention to their offense but from what I saw they did throw it around a bit.
While I can't speak on their offense from experience I can say that my son went to his kicking camp and it was excellent. So are his kicking game materials. From my brief interaction with Bill he seems to be OK.

And I just didnt get the whole "5 wide" talk..

The sales pitch does seem misleading, and it seemed like more 2x2 than 5 wide but they looked decent, but who wouldn't if you have 4 DI kids on the line....heck, I'll "sell" you my "system" for $2.00, you can save $198.00 if you order now....LOL.....

I doubt he'll mention that a lot of his success comes from having two D-1 QB's the last 3 years. Lalich, I think the guy from a few years ago, who went to Virginia (has since transferred out I believe), and his son, who is going to Carolina next year. Probably a pretty good offense, but I'd be more interested in how he finds and grooms QBs.
