Everytime I spend hours getting ready for my football team I absolutely blow at Madden. Thankfully, I know where the priority is but I am really on a losing sweep since studying for real football. I believe it is because I am using the real progressions that these plays would mostly use. I find myself getting discouraged with Madden and video games in general. Is this normal? I can't wait until Monday when we do our 7 on 7 passing. I can't wait until two a days. If you had asked me when I was 20 that video games might of the way of the do do bird I would have laughed. I'm hitting the big 28 in a 2 months and I wanted to get everyone's opinion.

As much as we might decry our player's football IQs, the computer AI really can kill football games. You find certain plays that always work and gravitate towards them because the AI can't hack it. The only way the game can make it 'harder' is to change the physical abilities of the defense/offense, which is less than satisfying.
I get a fiending for some video game football every year around January, so I keep getting the NCAA franchise, but it's less satisfying as they make the offseason stuff more and more complex and 'in-depth'.

I stopped playing video game football at "10 yard fight".........its just not satisfying. 10-Yard Fight was the bomb! Are there even 11 guys on the field? I think I only count nine.

Yeah it's 9 on 9 and the QB is in a white jersey. Ah how I miss the days of NES. I was always more of a Techmobowl fan though. As for getting discouraged at Madden it is easy to do especially when you play against other people and they kill you doing things like cheating up their stud LB every time and he kills your RB on runs and your QB on pass. The newer ones are supposed to kind of make up for that and it does help, but not enough. I'm personally waiting for the new NCAA come out the create a school mode is amazing. Been online since they released building schools. I think my brother has made about a dozen so far.

mariner42 hit it right on. Madden has always been a game of attributes. if you want a tougher opponent they wont be smarter, just faster and better tackling.
ESPN NFL2K was more like the real deal. they captured the NFL game way better than Madden ever has. their system remembered your play calling. based on down/distance and all that good stuff, the CPU could adjust because it was learning your moves. you also had the ability to "play" against yourself by loading your profile into the opponents team. it also had "celebrity profiles" so you could play against Steve-O, Funk Master Flex, Carmen Electra, and a few others. Madden tried to copy that system last ear bu failed as usual.
because Madden is the only game going now (for 360) i dont play football games anymore. id rather have nothing than anything EA makes

88 You just took me back to a time when playing video games was simple and fun. The greatness on the game was in its simplicity. Tecmo Bowl/Tecmo Super Bowl were classics. I wish I still had the game.

MOFO and MOFC will absolutely kill Madden. I can play it blindfolded. All I need is for someone to tell me the safeties alignment presanp.

tecmo super bowl was a classic. Me and a couple of coaches on our staff play against each other online for bragging rights at practice. I'm the young guy on the staff at 28 and the other coaches are older then me. WE also do a madden tournament with my youth team of whiich I am the 3 time defending champion. ps any challengers my online name is bigvocab on PS3 I'm usually in east room one.

NCAA is so fluff-oriented and they intentionally gear everything towards "wide-open gameplay" (ie allow the offense to score as much as possible) that I just can't mess with it anymore. They also refuse to even attempt realistic blocking schemes for zones, options, or counters. Blah
