Tell him to look up Don Gullett Reds Pitcher
Gullett attended McKell High School in South Shore, Kentucky where he was an outstanding three sports athlete in baseball, football, and basketball. As a high school pitcher, he once tossed a perfect game - including striking out 20 of the 21 hitters he faced. Gullett excelled as a high school football player as well once scoring 72 points in a single game. He ran for 11 touchdowns and kicked 6 extra points.

Look up Josh Roenicke - Cincinnati Reds - 3 sport athlete in high school - Football, Basketball, Baseball - Currently will be the next guy called up from the Reds AAA team in Louisville. Throws a mid 90's fastball.
What is different about Josh? Went UCLA to play football. Played 3 years of football and decided he should try baseball again. Played outfield for a year and then the baseball decided to give him a shot at middle relief. He ends up getting drafted. He's "older" for baseball standards (26), but his arm is "young".
Put on a ton of weight (from the weight room) after high school.

Nothing on Clemens but run a Google image search for Twins catcher Joe Mauer.

Craig Biggio's kid plays both football and baseball. Craig is the head baseball coach. I guess he thinks it's OK to play both sports

Sounds as if the Red Sox are going to be after Keith Hustedt in this year's draft (or possibly as a free agent)

Um......Bo Knows Baseball........Bo Knows Football.
Jeff Francour of the Braves I believe was recruited to play QB at Clemson? Could be wrong on that one.
The best play 2-3 sports.

Tog, that guy is an idiot. You have had several really good examples of kids that are 2 sport (FB and Baseball) but you only have to look a few miles southwest of FT Worth (I think that is where you are) and see Shelby Miller of Brownwood. Shelby is the Texas High School Gatorade Player of the year and will probably be a top 10 draft selection and was also an all district wide receiver and all- state punter this year. You should also take a hard look at Celina, football powerhouse and went at least 3 rounds deep. Almost all of the kids play both...including the team leaders Troy McCartney and Charley Waldrep. Waldrep is going to Alabama to play baseball...the list goes on.
