Coaches,
We are approaching our 100 day mark until the beginning of the season. Our staff wanted to make a big deal of it, with a team emphasis, as we start to gear towards our summer program. Any suggestions? Do you guys do anything to mark your 100 days until the first game? Thanks in advance....

We don't do it, but I would think of having the team have a strongman competition like some colleges have (Michigan, Florida ect.) have different events, tug of war, throwing medicine balls overhead. Could develop a system of getting a group of winners out of your various events or and offense or defense competition where offensive player competes against defensive player in a lift or anything else.
Have it after school on the field, two dollar admission fee or whatever, put it into the paper to develop buzz and donate all proceeds to a charity or put it in the booster club.
Our kids would love that.

I read the subject line and thought we were talking politics and Obama's first one hundred days. I thought we might revive the entitlement discussion!

The "100 Days" phenomenon is a complete joke. The 100th day is no more special than the 99th or 101th. If you choose to have an excuse for a fundraiser or charity event, I applaud you. But I always laugh at people who celebrate the 100th day of anything. Like, I hope you assume you're gonna make it to the 100th day, so why celebrate it?

Not sure why it's laughable. For some it could be a great tradition. I think gpoulin76 is looking for ideas not judgments.
Be as a creative as possible. If you can motivate your players and promote your program, why not come up with something?
I never thought about the 100 day mark leading up to the season but we do a countdown of our own.
Why not?

sounds like a good idea, especially since spring sports are coming to an end

Good idea, announcements in school, maybe give out tee shirts with the words PREPARE FOR VICTORY on it or something. we are sending home newsletters and point charts but it doesnt really have anything to do with one hundred days.
