Pregame - Diet Mountain Dew and a Snickers -- Been doing that since I was a sophomore in High School and all 4 years of college ball. Figured I would carry it into my coaching career.
During a game Sunflower Seeds (Ranch Flavor)
Funny story about this topic: In my first job about 3 years ago. I was Oline coach, but the Head Coach put another guy with me. Veteran guy that had been coaching for about 14 years. He was up in the booth, I was on the field. It was homecoming week and one of the parents had tamales in the booth. Apparently my coaching buddy had a food allergy that he wasn't aware of. He had about 3 tamales at the start of the 1st quarter. About 1/2 way in I couldn't understand a word he was saying. Come to find out his tongue, eyes, and cheeks swelled up. It was one of and will always be the funniest thing that I have ever seen in my life. Kinda random, but the food thing reminded me of it. So the moral of this story is to be careful of what you eat in the press box.

Got a new job and the Supe is a snuff-nazi, so I'm going to have to figure something out.

I might snatch a burger or something before a game, but generally don't get to eat during. I try not to drink any soda--a couple seasons ago, I drank one before heading up to the box and needless to say, I wasn't sure if I was going to make it to halftime!!!

Last year out concession people brought food and drinks to the box. If I wasn't in the zone, I'd usually order something and eat it during the break in the next quarter while people were talking on the headsets and I was waiting for my turn.
I never tried eating during a play or while heavily involved in something. Took my mind away. I will drink a water occasionally though.

Gum, lots of gum. It became a ritual this season
2 years ago i always chewed the orange pack of trident (tropical twist or something) then this year we lost week 1 so i changed it up. Started using the purple pack of trident (wildberry twist?) and we won, so i kept doing it. By mid season every game me and another 2 guys on staff would buy a pack of game each, (usually the same flavor) and share pieces before kick off. For some reason the sharing of the gum brought us luck... i can be very superstitous

Sunflower seeds and skoal brother - When I start yelling the kids start ducking. I would hate to be on the receiving end of a butt chewing from that mouth.... that makes my stomach churn just thinking about it...knowing me, I would get too excited and end up swallowing some combination of seed and dip.....more tasty goodness. ;D

When I was up in the booth it was the light blue Gatorade and Purple packaged skittles. It had to be those kind for superstitious reasons... down on the field I only drink water.

We have a Chik-Fil-A sandwich. The down side is that after the season I can't stand to look at another Chik-Fil-A sandwich even they're delicious and I used to love them.

I mixed this thread up with the pregame meal thread and didn't realize it until it was too late to edit it. For the record as tasty as Chick-Fil-A is we do not eat them on the sideline during games.

Interesting topic. I would have never thought of eating during a game in the past. I however was diagnosed as a diabetic a couple of months ago so it looks like that has to change. An 8:00pm snack to keep the blood sugar level where it needs to be is essential, particularly during a game when I'm fired up, the adreneline is flowing and I'm burning more sugar than normal.

During the game (in the box), usually just a plate with some potato chips on it. Usually a couple Red Bulls, and a couple bottles of water.

I've never eaten during a game. Not once. Maybe some gum, or some water....or some Skoal if I can hide it well.
At my previous school, the assistant coaches would all go out to eat after school (Mcdonalds, Arbys...closest thing near our high school).
At my current one we have alot of prep to do, so normally we just call DOminos and have them deliever.

I can't eat during a game...just drink lots of water, especially pregame cause I am usually so nervous, which makes me thirsty...Of course, by the middle of the 1st quarter, I have to take a piss so bad...
