Just curious what other coaches eat during the game. I know a lot of coaches suck on cough drops or hard candy. Last year I got into a habit of snacking on "ice breakers" but those had a tendency to eat through my tongue so I'm looking for a new snack.

Super, I think it is referring to coaches in the box, and I have saw coaches eat the entire game. It drove me nuts being in the box, I felt to confined.
I used to have a Mountain Dew (Some games were more than others on average I would say 6 though.) and food was variable. Things like pizza, sunflower seeds and candy bars were devlivered by our press box kid. Kid would do anything to get into a ball game....
realdawg: FYI To save money my dad buys a can of each when he buys those two items and puts a small pinch of each in his mouth (total of a normal pinch) says he gets the same flavor that lasts longer and costs less...

One of my old HC's had to have fried chicken gizzards for his pregame meal.. at first the rest of us were pretty turned off..
but by week 10.. we all had to have our gizzard fix...

Are you guys saying that you eat while you are coaching? How? When? Why? I have never eaten during a game. Not really eating, just chewing on something for nerves/anxiety/focus ect. Especially helpful at times when you are coaching on defense and those damn offensive guys just keep passing the freakin ball!

On the field - Sunflower Seeds plain or flavored
In the box- the same and Maybe a bag of chips or something.
This last year up in the box during an away game we found out the home team has a buffet like spread. It was nice. Lunchmeat, and fixin's for sandwhiches, pizza, veggie tray, and fried chicken.

Pregame - "5 hour energy" - IMO the best stuff ever invented. Game - Seeds & Water. Practice - Seeds & water.
Nervous, elated, excited, angry, depressed or extremely focused, my seeds are always there for me. Like most of you, I've learned the art of chewing and spitting according to my emotional state. I've been told by the kids that they can tell what mood I'm in by how I chew my seeds.
I'm certainly not a doctor and I'm not sure how to measure my sodium intake from August to December, but a bag of seeds a day probably isn't good for me.

since 60% of my diet is raw I eat fruit and vegetables during games. keep them cool in the cooler we put ice in. we platoon so I can eat when ever I would like.
I usually have a protein sake before practice. I like the strawberry flavored ones.

If the weather is warm; Diet 7-Up. I used to drink Diet Coke or Diet Dr. Pepper, but I don't do well in the box if I'm all jacked up on caffeine; little bit too excitable.
If the weather is cold, I bring a thermos of decaf coffee up.

Gum & Water - I'm one the field
It pisses me off when the press box coaches are having a buffet, especially when it's cold & raining and they are warm and dry.
