How many of you have football booster clubs?
What do they do for you (Dinners, Banquests, Fundraising, BBQ....)
Anything not mentioned?
Do any of you have goals, mission statements, etc...
Power struggles - issues?
I took over a program last year that had 5 coaches in four years... It had major issues with the parents and booster clubs.
I have pulled back quite a bit and I have all of the control and all of the support. My question is what do I have the parents do (We do dinners at outback, fundraising through me)... Do any of them do corporate sponsors or banners....
Just brainstorming ideas (PLease do not hijack the thread with how much parents are asss holes and all of that too).

Our Booster Club is awesome. Parent volunteers coordinate most of our fundraisers: Fertilizer Sale Golf Tournament Corporate Sponsors (Banners) Food Vendors at Home games ( Pizza places, Buffalo Wild Wings, others)
They also: provide nutritious snacks between two-a-day practices do all the planning and set-up for the banquet sponsor a fall"get-to-know -the coaches" pizza party and keg organize our Kick-off/Picture Niight
Here is our Booster Club Mission Statement: MISSION STATEMENT Our mission is to support the Eagan High School Football Program by involving the families of ALL football players in our various activities, with the common goal of providing special services and support in order to enhance the overall experience for our players, coaches and fans. MAIN GOALS 1. Support the “Eagan Football Mission Statement”, which outlines the important life lessons that are learned through the sport of football. 2. Strive to involve all football families, Grades 9-12, providing opportunities for all to share in supporting roles. 3. Seek dedicated volunteers each year who will provide the direction and leadership necessary to implement and follow through with each activity. 4. Prepare annually an outline of “needs” and a supporting budget. 5. Strive to obtain 100% Booster Club membership of all Varsity football families, and invite all families of Eagan’s 9-12 Program and community members to join our Booster Club. 6. Assist coaching staff in developing and implementing the necessary fundraising activities to support the Program’s needs. 7. At the beginning of the season, host a Kick-off Night event and hold a Parents/Guardians – Coaches get acquainted social event.
Although there are always those who will drive you nuts, we have been blessed with a very high percentage of great parents.
