Had an opportunity to meet him a year ago this month. The sport we love has lost an excellent coach and an even better person. Whether you know him or have never heard of him his family and SMU in your prayers.
I believe he died from a blood clot after Knee or Hip replacement surgery.

I'll remember Frank Ganz as the special teams coach for the Chiefs and the story he told on the old NFL Films Crunch Course video about playing special teams .... "Someone was talking about courage, but I like what the men of the 82nd and 101st Airborne used to say. When asked about courage they responed - Those were the guys who were afraid to go, but they went anyway." Supposedly the entire team would crowd into the meeting room to hear Ganz do a pre-game speech for the special teams groups. Rest in Peace, Coach.
