Coaches,
I need some advice on how to get some students interested in helping out. A lot of kids that are not involved in sports have other jobs and interests and just don't want to commit the time. How do you reward or entice them to be a student manager? Do you give them a letter? Clothing?

Some of our best managers have been Special Ed kids. We do give letters and gear.

Thanks for the responses fellas. I'm going to check with one of our lower level coaches at the HS that happens to be a SPED teacher and see if he has any kids in mind.

nothing wrong with looking in the AP classes either......
one of my best was a genius.....if not for him our program couldn't have functioned....handled all of the laundry/equipment issues.....kept inventory......loaded all electronics.....and made tape copies.......
he just wanted to be part of the team....knew he wasn't good enough to play......i don't think he ever realized how valuable he was.....
