How do you guys go about planning for spring practice?
Last year I found myself planning just like i would for reg. season just with out hitting.
Anythings you avoid or dont avoid would help.
Thanks in advance!

Right now we're planning on how to replace 21 seniors from a 33 man squad! Only 2 returning starters from 22 positions. Time to Coach em' up!

I'm talking about once you start spring practice getting ready for camp.
We are not allowed to hit in our state until Mid Aug.

Well boo on that state. Im in Florida and were about to start up spring practice the first part of may. first 3 days are "conditioning" then we get 17 with pads plus a spring game. It will be full go on the hitting, except for the QB.

Also a florida coach. We stick to a 2 hour practice schedule and we spend our first 3 days on offense. Skills, timing, and evaluation. We use Special Teams for conditioning. Once the pads go on we usually go 2 days defense then 2 days offense. Ending with a Spring Game on day 19.

we install base run and base pass. we also install some of our special teams concepts in the first week. second week, we get a little more complex. (screens, draws, concept routes, etc...)
