I know a guy who took over a school that was not very good. they had not won a game in 3 years. so in the weight room they had their school mascot painted on the wall of the weight room. the rest of the wall was blank. so he hired a couple painters who painted football players with the other schools in the conference logo's on them. these players where kicking the mascot of the losing school. when the kids got upset about this he said you need to out work those teams in the weight room. he made a deal with them. he would have the wall painted over again if the kids worked out and won at least 5 games the next season. well it worked. guess even losers still have some school pride.
of course this is the same guy who in his first season after the team got down big in their home coming game and gave up so they could go tot he home coming dance. he held practice right after the game so the boys could not go to the home coming dance. needless to say this turned around a season.

We have three on the wall that have been there since the 1970s and our Hall of Fame former HC:
"School of Champions" "We Lead" "It Can Be Done"
Also, kudos for bringing back an older thread and giving it new life!

Got this from our new HC Excuses are the nails that built the house of failure
Shut up and Train!!! A man is judged by his actions not his words "Hard Work Beats Talent When Talent Doesn't Work Hard!" Nobody likes a quitter Train Like a Champion Today *above squat racks wth mirrors* THE NEXT STATE CHAMPION IS... "Your body is like a chain, you are only as strong as your weakest link" The price of victory is high, but so are the rewards- Bear Bryant
What worked and got our boys frothng was when we put onthe white board "3-7 again or 14-0? The answer is found in here!"

"you're not getting any better looking, so you might as well be strong." Hmm, along those lines maybe we can use DCOhio's classic, "When you're dumb you've gotta be tough".

"Nothing Great is every acheived without Great Effort"
We painted a large Tiger head (our mascot) and put Tiger Power on either side with the phrase Building Champions below it. Then painted the state champion banners our school has won on the wall next too it

Got this from an earlier thread, it's now a big poster in our weight room:
THE SQUAT Down this road , in a gym far away, A young man was heard to say, No matter what I do, my legs won't grow He tried leg extensions, leg curls, and leg presses too, Trying to cheat, these light workouts he'd do From the corner of the gym where the big men train, Through a cloud of chalk and the midst of pain, Where the noise is made with big forty fives, And the iron rides high and threatens lives, A deep voice bellowed as he wrapped his knees, A very big man with legs like trees. Laughing as he snatched another plate from the stack, Chalking his hands and monstrous back, Said "Boy, stop lying and don't say you've forgotten, The trouble with you is you ain't been SQUATTIN!

Scrolled through and didn't see this.
Leave it...
Goes off of leave it on the field, we leave it in the weight room.
For awards this year I made shirts that say "I left it"

Got this from Josh Nibblett from Hoover HS.
Not sure if it's really a weight room slogan but I love it.

I took this one from the University of Texas weightroom that we saw in an article and then put it on ours. You would obviously insert your name, but "The Pride and Winning Tradition of the Texas Longhorns will not be entrusted to the weak nor the lazy" I love it!

In reference to early morning workouts...on a shirt.
“Every morning in Africa a gazelle wakes up and knows that it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning a lion wakes up and knows that it must run faster than the slowest gazelle or it will starve to death. It doesn’t matter whether you are the lion or the gazelle, when the sun comes up, you better be running.”
