It seems some people in our government do not agree with the way college football ranks the teams. www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5hV4mOJQgUsQthrydU_Vty4iVgC5gD9759GG00Now senators are getting off the sidelines to examine antitrust issues involving the Bowl Champion Series.
In the House, Rep. Joe Barton of Texas, the top Republican on the Energy and Commerce Committee, has sponsored legislation that would prevent the NCAA from calling a football game a "national championship" unless the game culminates from a playoff system. This has got to be an early April Fools joke, yes? Never mind these jack asses are putting aside all of the other problems (which might be a good thing). Is there any area of our lives these people do not feel the need to stick their noses? Are our citizens actually pulling voting levers to send people to D.C. to make sure their college team has a fair shake? Disgusting.

I think I can live with a few more years of the BCS if it means these guys will get back to work working on things like oh say the economy, China wanting a global currency, you know small little things like that...

Just spent a few hours with a staff member of my state rep...
They actually read our emails and letters... well... somebody reads them...
And don't think these guys just jump out their blindly on their topics of discussion... I'm sure, Tejas has been emailing a chit load of complaints about their foosball... and this must have been on the top 10... maybe top 5

Honestly, I felt the same way during the NE spygate crap with that Representative who was all up in arms over that when we had so many more pressing things going on. If that was the most important thing that Congressman had to do at the time, then why are so many people pissed off about so many other things?
Kinda feel like politics and sports need to have some separation.

Well, you know they "use to" refer to the championship in college football, as a "mythical national championship", back in the old days......its true actually, without a playoff system of some kind, like HS, small college ball, the NFL or even the other major college sports.....they'll always be some "what if's". Is it that big of a deal to most people, one way or the other....doubt it.....who the heck cares.....no job = thats a big deal.... being able to retire and not have to live in a cardboard box = thats a big deal......affordable healthcare = really big deal.....$5.00 a gal gas = yep, big deal......who won the national championship in college football is uhhh, err, well...hey... who did win last year?......I already forgot!

we really don't need government intervention here- this and the "Barackotology" college BB shenanigans... they aren't paid to worry about college or professional sports. I can't believe we put these guys in office...

Well two things, we know the minute the long horns got "screwed" there would be some changes and two I think they do have a pretty good beef lol. I mean the BCS does leave other schools out from making that type of money. That I believe is a violation and we know college football does not have the balls to do right.
