Hi Coaches,
We're lucky enough to be able to buy some new equipment for next season.
We've got no sled, few old dummies and blocking shields and a home made chute. So basically we have to buy everything.
What do you think we need to restart our program?
You have to know that we are an amateur team in France, so during pratice we're only 20 to 30 players...

Shields, cones is really all you need. build your own shutes. You really do not need a sled.

A few dummies, arm shields, a strip or cones to layout the line. We actually have used telephone poles in the ground for laying out the holes to run through.

Keep the home made chutes. Buy some trash cans (for defense). Get a fire hose and paint an offensive line on it. Cones (personally, I need lots of cones). Boards for the offensive line. Get some arm shields and dummies. Can't really think of much else you NEED, other than make sure you have plenty of footballs!

Instead of a sled, if you are looking for leg drive and a dang tough work out:
Get an old automobile tire, does matter what shape it is in (unless the wire is showing through the tread) and have the players push the tires along the ground. It is basically a bear crawl, but your legs do all the work.
Alternately you could simply use a length of board (a 2x4 or 2x6 inches) cut about 3 feet long. Serves the same purpose. A whole lot harder than you would think.

trash cans a must. we would not survive w/out our cans. You can always line them up how you like, and they never move to the wrong place. HaHa

What do you think we need to restart our program? All of the above and about 15 of the toughest sombitches in France. That will get you started.

I would purchase a good sled. A good five or seven man sled can serve so many purposes. Its invaluable.

I would def. get some trash cans! Very cheap, but valuable in teaching players.
