Stay with me on this one -- I'VE developed an offense that has SIX players eligible to catch downfield passes. I have five linemen numbered in the 50's-70's and they are next to each other. One guy, maybe an #81 is next to the linemen and another is split out. Then we put one back next to #81, a QB UNDER the center, a back behind him and a back next to that guy!
E-------T--G--C--G--T--#81 ---------------QB-------------B ---------B------B
I think its got a lot of possibilities -- I'd like to stay - but I have a book deal coming out...
just wondering how much $$$$$ the a-11 coaches made - seriously, they must have made thousands of dollars...did the kids get the $$$ - did the school - if they used the school's players and facilities when they made the videos you would think the school would get a cut.

Your idea has promise, though at some point someone is going to move some of those B guys out a little wider.

Who are you trying to kid? Anyone can see that the left 'G' is a Fat Freddy that can barely get out of his stance. So, what I did is completely innovate a new offense. I moved the left side 'G' over on the right side of the 'C'. That way, his deficiency is covered by the extra linemen on the right side. just in case, I moved a 'B' up just behind him in the gap. And, by bring the left 'E' in closer, my new offense still maintains good pass protection and maintains an eligible receiver. But, wait! There's more! Why be under center with the QB? Much better to move him back. In fact, now that I think about it, QB's are prima donna wimps. I'm just going to get rid of him and use another back that can half-@$$ sling the ball downfield whenever we need it. Now, we're talking a completely new, innovative offense the likes of which no one has ever seen before. Hold on, gotta call my agent. Movie and book deals are sure to come.

I don't think that Kurt and Steve made that much money on the A-11. That's not what it was all about.

Would like to comment more on these innovations, but my agent and lawyer want me to wait a month or so to get all the copyright provisions into place. Gotta go now - we're shooting a video.

I've always thought the loophole should be closed. But I've now found a better reason for it being closed. Because all the people who spent the last season spending more time badmouthing Kurt & Co than working on their own program will have to get lives.

I thought part of being a coach was ignoring criticism. Just flash em a championship ring and ignore the rest.

My question about the $$$ is sincere. AFM sells groups of videos that cost over $100 - I sure don't have that type of money but I bet a lot of a-11 videos were sold. Just wondering how much they made in their endeavor.
I'll give you a difference between coach Bryan and other coaches I have known. I saw Coach Bryan at a recent clinic -- when questioned about some of the basics we were referred to the manual that could be bought-- and wait - make sure you buy volume 1 before you buy volume 2 which is coming out soon.
Another coach/presenter at the same clinic - I asked for similar information and he gave me his e-mail address and is sending power points and playbook.
And his comment about not having time to reply to a comment on this board because he had to go speak at a clinic smacked of self-importance. In it for the kids - maybe - but now it seems like he may have be in it for the money and fame? also.

The funniest thing about the A-11 is, I don't think anyone really won anything with it did they?

The funniest thing about the A-11 is, I don't think anyone really won anything with it did they? No. No team ever won a state championship with it. But to be fair, only a few teams using it didn't have a winning record.

I'm not sure if that is accurate coachhensley. Most teams that I saw had losing records, but to be fair, they were teams in dire straits to begin with, so losing can't necessarily be completely laid at the feet of the A-11. Someone else actually compiled the won-loss records on here so I could be wrong.
As far as the money stuff, I think that was part of it I guess, but I don't think Kurt ever had an illusions about driving around in a Bentley on A-11 money. I think the bigger thing was the self-aggrandizing need to be seen as geniuses and innovators, but that's all water under the bridge now.
