Coaches
Aside from Study Halls and tutors, how else do you stress the importance of academics to your players?

Coach this past June I cut 37 kids from my program due to academic failure. Some say I set myself up to cut my own throat. In the end it was my best season coaching ever and we qualified for our state's playoffs. Email me and I will send you the program I created. It was nothin fancy-but it worked. coachwallack@gmail.com

Helmet awards (Stars) for As and Bs at interim and report cards. The only helmet awards we gave out last years. Kids were saying hey man you only a one star or two star. It was pretty cool

Just try to have weekly meetings with as many of them as you can or the ones that need the guidance about their academics..Let them know that you are serious about their grades. Also ask them if they have any ambitions on goin to the next level and that without their grades they can not get there. Put up SAT Qualifying scores and etc around the weight room
its all about how you approach it. And your attitude about their academics
