Malzahn OC, Curtis Luper RB coach (from OK State), Trooper Taylor WR coach (from OK State).
Anybody have any thoughts or insights on Luper and Taylor so far beyond what I can read in their bios?

Trooper coached rbs and wrs at when he was at UT and each position showed great improvement under Trooper. Tennessee fans loved his excitement, coaching ability, and ability to recruit.

interesting choice for oc. he is a spread guy. Old staff gone, this is a new staff. It was Tuberville and Co. that didn't buy in to the first go round with "the spread". Seems to me, after watching Tulsa last night, that this is a much more run oriented attack too. That will sit well with the Auburn faithful.

X 2 on Trooper. Lots of fans were lobbying for UT to bring him back as OC or even HC after Fulmer was fired. I hear he rubs a lot of older, more conservative types the wrong way because he's got a very "hip hop" vibe about him. I'm not sure if that means anything about his football knowledge, but I do know it helps him in recruiting and relating to players. The offensive staff is really shaping up to be interesting. Looks like Chizik was hired on the condition that he adopt a more high octane passing offense after the Petrino and Franklin debacles. The man must know who signs his checks...

I've read some stories about Trooper doing some corrupt recruiting with guys like Antron Wright and Dee Morley when he was at Tennessee. How true this is, I don't know. And as far as knowing who signs the checks...LOL! IMO, that's why Tubberville was fired in the first place...for not agreeing with Lowder any longer.

Trooper Taylor is a very good recruiter, no doubt...a little of a BSer, but my dealings with him have been overall positive and he's a quality WR coach (I knew him back in the Tulane days)

Taylor opens the door in Texas for recruiting. An old Cuero Gobbler.
