Montana vs. Richmond Richmond has one of the top running backs in the country. The past 3 weeks the Grizzlies have shut down 3 of the top runners in the country. Montana QB simply doesn't make mistakes and running back has had 8 straight 100 yard games and 21 TDs.
Montana has 2 FCS First Team All-Americans: OL Colin Dow and Safety Colt Anderson, both Montana high school grads. Richmond has none though their back is scary good.
About 14-15 of the Grizzly starters were Montana high school kids. 5-6 of the starters come from coaching families, including linebacker Brandon Fisher whose dad is the head coach of the Tennessee Titans.
Statistically they're really evenly matched. Richmond head coach is in his 1st year, has had a fantastic year. Montana was supposed to be in a rebuilding year but finished 14-1. Richmond upset Northern Iowa and App. State in the playoffs. Griz beat James Madison last week and avenged their only loss to Weber State with a win in the quarterfinals against them.
Richmond has probably played a tougher schedule.
I'm obviously biased but I am predicting a 28-24 Montana Grizzly victory.

Thanks blitzer, I will be rooting for the grizz tonight. Do you know what O and D each team runs?

Mount Union has probably the most storied football program in the entire country. They have went on numerous win streaks that have lasted around 50-60 games. They are in the national title game almost every single year. Last year they lost to Whitewater in the title game. Im picking them to get their revenge this time around. I'm biased though...

Even though I would love to see UW-Whitewater win, I think Mount Union gets the "W".

Both multiple formations. Griz will run a lot of stuff--from 4 wide to 2 tight. Sometimes 2 back for blocking. Defensively they run a 4-3 out of an Over or Under front. Tend to bring a lot of zone blitz schemes with Bronko coverage. Base coverage is quarters with heavy emphasis on safeties reading routes.
Don't know much about Richmond's team--only saw last few minutes of their game last week and they were in 2 minute mode, but they do go some 2 back as well.

Any one care to explain "Bronko" coverage to me?

Zone blitz coverage (Backers Replaced = Bronko). It's 3 under 3 deep with a safety spinning down to replace.

We used to say that but now we tell backers to buzz the flats and safeties to spin down.

You know Montana HS kids are tough when most of them list "rodeo" as their second favorite sport.
Did a clinic in Billings this year, tough kids, good football, interesting stories.
