What do you guys think about these 1980s-retro puffy sideline jackets? Mike Tomlin was the first guy I saw in one of these but Wade Phillips and Bill Belichek have also worn them.

Don't like them at all, but I think the NFL endorsement contracts tell the coaches what they have to wear on the sidelines. That's why Del Rio and Mora Jr. have been fined for wearing suits over the years.

Lol at the Costanza reference.
I wouldn't personally wear the jackets (I'd probably be called the Michelin Midget or some other far-fetched nickname because of my height), but I'm not gonna look down on anybody for their looks or wanting to be warm. I think you should be comfortable on the sidelines- feel free to wear rumpled hoodies or a jacket that makes you look like you came from the set of Back to the Future.

They like the old-school triple fat goose jackets from the 90's

About as bad as the leather-sleeved varsity jackets they had to wear a couple of years ago.....

Actually these jackets have extra padding for protection because they were finding coaches were getting hurt when the play was taken out of bounds (ala Weis) so the NFL is making coaches wear these on the sidelines, esp during cold weather games when it is even harder for coaches to get out of the way.

Amen Phantom.....Amen! The more I coach in the cold and the older I get I could give two you-know-whats I look like. I will wear whatever when ever to be warm. If you ever hear I died from exposure in the winter you know I was murdered LOL
