Sometimes my wife thinks she's a coordinator "You should give the ball to #4 more he runs really fast!" "You should have the qb throw more he can throw really far and that other player is really fast so have him throw it to him" "Why don't you let #67 run with the ball he's big and would be hard to tackle I bet" "You should let the other team score I feel bad for them" Just some great game plan ideas from her

In Nebraska Scott Frost was coached by his Dad the head coach( Larry) and his Mom, AC (Carol) in HS at Wood River Scott played for NU and in the NFL ( transferred from Walsh's Stanford team to NU after 2 years) She was an Olympic track athlete From what I understand she was a very good coach ( one off my coaches Reffed a bunch of their games) Larry and Carol coached an 8 Man Team (Parkview Christian) in Lincoln for 2-3 years and now neither is coaching, Larry is the AD etc Golly seems like it would be a very tough road to hoe on many levels.

My wife knows more football than some of the coaches I have met. She knows the difference between midline and veer.

My wife could easily be the offensive coordinator, and she could coach either the OL or the backfield as well. She knows nothing about defense at all, other than tackle the guy with the ball. She is very, very familiar with Wyatt's DW system as she has been to a clinic, and listened for a bit, and she was watched every video that he has produced. Best part is if I hired she would actually have to do what I tell her to do or I could fire her (which would be the only way I get to be the boss). She actually called Nebraska to see if she could drop me off under the Safe Haven law....no joke.

There was something I think on Outside the Lines or something some years back about a husband wife football coaching group. She coached DBs at the HS or small college level.

I was an offensive coach for a team that was running the flexbone. I look up into the crowd and see my wife leading the cheer.... Throw the ball..Throw the ball..Throw the ball. I asked her why she was doing that... she replied.. well.... I wanted you guys to throw the ball..maybe we should have... Youngstown beat us literally 50-0. maybe my wife should be an OC

What if you needed to fire your DC then....do you think that would lead to divorce???

honestly, none of us actually coach football ... we coach kids. that is the mindset one must have. coach the kids, coach the athlete, coach the most basic of athletic principles ... schemes come way on down the list.

Little off subject, but just reminded me of a conversation my fiancee and I had.
We were watching the Giants and the Eagles last weekend and here is how the conversation went.
Fiancee: You know I have been watching football with you since we met, and I have always wondered something.
(been together 5 years; engaged for 2 months)
ME: What's that???
Fiancee: When the ball is snapped the defensive back guys drop into their zones right???
ME: Yes dear.
Fiancee: Someone should come up with an offense that when this happens the recievers can change where they go in the middle of the route. The qb could read it and throw it to them when they get open.
ME: GOD I LOVE YOU!!!
Yes, gentlemen I am a lucky man.

You know...we have played that team the last few years (not this year thank god, they're 3A we're 2A). That chick is actually quite aggressive. She loves to blitz. I can't say I know her very well, but i've met the Head Coach (husband) a few times. Nice guy. Our defensive coordinator use to give us (me and the head coach) some ribbing (jokingly and not in front of the team), that if we lost to that team..he was going to remind us we got beat by a girl all season long. Thinking to myself, why couldn't she have been the OC instead..hah. Needless to say, there was a lot of macho pressure not to lose lol. Luckily we beat them both times we played. But they're coached ok, they seem to have a good talent pool right now.. But it seems they did ok this season..they won the 3A title.
