I'm pretty sure that the last head coach I worked for got his offensive playbook from this.

I loved that game and hated it at the same time. It drove me nuts trying to get the guys to go the right way and we kept losing footballs from kicks/passes.
I did love playing it though

I picked up one of the old versions of this game, someone told me it was the original for 5 bucks at a garage sale.

We had this. It's why I'm a special teams coach.

hi... my name is khalfie and I've been playing Electronic football since I was 6 years old... Big teenager across the streets taught me to play, and I was hooked ever since... Don't think, I wasn't watching hard to figure out how they got their players so fast... how they worked their passing, and since they had scales... i know my putting dimes under my players would get me disqualified. However, the only thing that was able to cure my addiction... was this... www.handheldmuseum.com/Mattel/FB.htmFrom 10years of age on... this was my life! Kids just don't know what they are missing!

Khal -
I still have one of those laying around somewhere. My kids play with it every once in a while.

I own the 85 bears vs pats superbowl edition. I have since painted over the teams many times. more paint= stronger players. size really does matter.

That's the kind of thing I wouldn't even want to mess with for fear of addiction...........as I seemed to spend a lot of time making sure my schedule was free for my next "league game".................... [/quote I love Tecmo, remember throwing the ball 90 yards, and the guy would catch it

I also had the Super Bowl XX version with the Bears and Patriots. I also had the whole NFC Central. I used to play it all the time.
I also had some game where you matched an offensive card under a defensive card. You rolled dice and the number corresponded to certain windows on the defensive card.
I thought that was cool. My dad and I played all the time.

Brophy, I know what your'e thinking. Man I have this QB/K who is 3 times the size of the other players, I can win it all. Just remember that he is not that accurate with the magnet(football). Man i loved that electronic football. It would take 10 minutes to set up the guys, and then they would run around in circles. After the play you would brush the little plastic hairs on the bottom, thinking, now he is going to run straight.

We used to play "Talking Football." It came with a defensive and offensive recording disc. You could pick a certain play and the defensive player could pick a defense, push the button and an announcer would describe the outcome. This was in the 70's and we played for hours!

guys you should try strat-o-matic computer football or action/pc football by dave koch sports.great way to pass the time in the winter.also the game that matched an offensive card with a defensive card was nfl strategy by tudor. By the way I use the electric football figures and board as avisual aid for defense and offense and getting kids lined up right on defense and blocking assignments and qb reads on offense
