I coach an 8th grade team and here are some highlights of our year. We had 3-4 games on DVD from parents and I had one of my students make some cutups of what he thought were the best plays. We run everything from the gun and you will see mostly our slot formation with IZ, IZ lead, jet, jet fake with inside zone away, Q counter, and a few passes. We went 5-2 on the season.
A lot of talk on here about practice time and installation. We start practice the day after Labor day and have 2 practices without pads then have 8 practices with pads before our first scrimmage. Practices are exactly 2 hours long and most of the time is spent in indy and group with about 20-25 minutes of team. The majority of the kids in the video are 2nd year players with some being 1st year. My starting Z (#40/21) is a first year kid and #22 (F) is a 2nd year kid.

Very nice - impressive execution considering that you didn't even start practices until after Labor Day. This is a good example of how a good spread package can really open up the run game.

We just rep the heck out of it in indy and group. The backs and receivers work on timing and routes while the line reps the heck out of IZ/OZ/Pass blocking. We enter our first scrimmage with IZ read, Jet, keep pass, and waggle.
Our 7th grade ran the same offense as us this year, finally, and I am looking forward to reaping the benefits next year. The one kid, #42, is a 7th grader and we gave him a game rep on offense in our last game of the year. He almost broke one against their starters. The 7th grade team outscored their opponents like 156-18 this year
