I have seen a million different warm-up routines by many different teams. Some are plain jane dynamic warm-up/indy time/team time and thats it while others clap or thud on their pads, break down on their team name and etc...
I just want a feel for how most coaches do this out there.
Stick with the basics or add some noise to the mix?

Here's how we work it before a game...once we come out..we stay out...not a big pre-game speech team heh.
If a game starts at 7pm.
5:50 kickers/snappers/returners 6:05 receivers/qbs/te's/rbs and we run our passing trees 6:30 Lineman come out and team begins a team stretch. (At the end we spell Bulldogs doing jumping jacks.) 6:40 we do our team tackling ..its basically 2 guys facing each other(5 yards apart)..and 1 is offense 1 is defense ...the offensive guy breaks right or left and the defender trails him and form tackles with wrap up..(we stay up..don't tackle to ground). 6:45 Basically defensive indy period...DL, LBs, Secondary work indy stuff...tip drills, dip and rip, LBs work their drops and move laterally. 6:50 Team offense - we are pretty basic here..and go until 1 min to game time...then kick a PAT and rush to the sideline.
I've seen 500 different ways now of teams warming up..so there is not right or wrong way to do it.

All I know is if I see a team doing a wussy tackling drill during warmup (instead of blasting each other like we do) then we have a chance!!!

We've never done a pre-game tackling drill, though I have thought about using one. But we've also mostly been pretty good at tackling, the one poor tackling game we had was against a very athletic, very quick and big team, so surprise we had more trouble tackling them one-on-one and in space. Against other athletic teams - including one in the playoffs that was the most athletic team we faced - we didn't miss three tackles total. So who knows? I'd like to do one though, if it can be proven that it helps get the kids in the mindset to hit. What does everyone think?

We actually added 4 plays of live scrimmage 1s vs. 1s as the last thing before we head back to the locker room. Actually started it because we had a game postponed and had 2 days "off" before the game so thought it would be a good idea to shake some dust off before kick off. As it turned out, we came out much sharper after a few live plays, so we kept it.

i love coaches that actually try to "scout" the pregame. you will see their coaches on the sideline (some even have coaches in the pressbox already) watching the plays we run in pregame.... haha ... which is why we run the EXACT SAME 7 plays EVERY week in pregame.... and, as an added twist, use 12 players. love the reactions from opposing coaches ....
pregame is simply for warming up. do what you need to do to get loose, get mentally prepared, and move on ... not a big need for a gazillion things to take place and to run a ton of plays. dynamic, stretch, throw, catch, kick, get a little contact, get some snaps, etc. and line up to play the game.
