Thanks to all vets, especially to my dad (26 years in USAF, flew Air Force One, flew Airborne Command Post, 2-time Vietnam vet, and was a part of BAT-21 rescue mission).

Spent most of my three years protecting Central Texas from cigarette butts, peeling paint, and long grass! ;D

U.S. Army. '86-'89. Never had to serve in an armed conflict. Thanks, to all that serve(d) in any branch at any time. Tough job; especially these days. I'd be just as proud to stand with these soldiers of today as I was with the ones I served with twenty years ago. Of course, as old and as fat as I've gotten; they wouldn't want me.

Semper Fi to all those who have gone before. Good luck to those currently serving and in harm's way. Without them we wouldn't have this board or the simple freedoms we take for granted. To paraphrase Jack Nicholson,"You can sleep safely because my men walk the walls."

USAF 2003-2007 Veteran Operation Enduring Freedom at Bagram Airbase Afghanistan in 2006. with that being said my service was nothing compared to those who stormed the beaches of Normandy and the sands of Iwo Jima. I have the utmost respect for the Marines and Army for they are the ones sleeping in trenches to keep our country what it is. my profile picture is of the Air Forces special forces unit Pararescue. Their motto is "We Who Dare, That Others May Live" Anyone willing to deliberately risk their lives to save another deserves more recognition than one day can give them. Thanks to all those who served.

let us not forget today is also the end of WW I 11/11/1918 the armistice was signed ending fighting. The treaty of versailles was signed on june 26 1919 which was the beginning of WW II because the treaty was so harsh on the Germans.
