For the next 2 Fridays we will get out of school early!
WE get out at 2:10 and we don't play until 7:30.
Normally we get out at 3:30.
Any schools get out that early and what is your usual Friday routine?

In our area of the country, coach, most of the programs let their kids go home unless it's a far enough trip to where the bus leaves almost immediately after school. We're a little different in that we are a co-op program made up of two separate schools. One dismisses at 3:05, the other 3:25. We tell the kids what time they need to be at the "field house" aka our basketball gym and what time they need dressed by. Never had an issue with people being late or unprepared.
In fact, the last program I was at made kids stay after school and not go home before a home game. I think it was detrimental. Those kids simply didn't want to be at the school that long.

One time we watched "remember the titans" as a team before the game. I was a fan of the idea because it got them off of their feet after school and we were certain that they didn't have any distractions.

I've been in programs that do both. We'd do early walk through, feed, go to the school theater and watch Titans, The Program, Rudy, Football Follies, etc. They'd watch, get off their feet, or sleep. Finish walk through, tape and dress. Where I am now, we do walk through, feed, tell them what time to be back, and let them go. They know if someone is late, we don't wait for them. Haven't had a problem yet.

We do let them go home - and no we do not feed them. More of a money issue than anything. Our booster club is busy buying helmets. They don't have the coin to do a pre-game meal.
