Okay guys, I've got a question for you...
I am getting married soon, and the HC at my school is going to be a groomsmen. I played for him when I was in HS, he helped me be able to play college football by calling some of his friends who were GA's and Assistant coaches in college, and we have been very good friends ever since. When he got the HC job, he wouldn't accept it until they agreed to find me a job in the district. We have dinner every week with our families either at his house or mine, you get the idea. I am trying to come up with a good groomsmen gift for him that he would be able to use frequently.
What ideas do you guys have?
Keep in mind that he doesn't drink or smoke. My brother is the best man and my college roommates are also best men, and they are getting some "drinking-aides" for their gifts, but I want something more useful for a HC that he would really appreciate.
My best friend growing up was and is mormon, so I'm having to beat my head against the wall coming up with something "fun" yet appropriate for him as well...
Thanks for the help.

" Okay, well, uh... candlesticks always make a nice gift, and uh, maybe you could find out where she's registered and maybe a place-setting or maybe a silverware pattern. Okay, let's get two! Go get 'em. ..."
In all seriousness, if he happens to have a bunch of pictures or something from throughout his coaching career (maybe ask his wife if he has one) a framed collage might really be nice.

Cool thing I got from my grandpa (and I in turn got my groomsmen) was a stainless steel pocket knife with my name engraved on it. Carry the thing with me a lot and always think of him when I use it. I know some of my groomsmen have busted theirs out at different times while hunting or fishing.....felt pretty good to know they had it with them....

Could get him a couple pair of polyester double knit tit high coaching shorts...come old guys...you know the ones I'm talking about... A stripper is always a nice gift. maybe a stripper in the polyester shorts....hmmm I think your gift isn't something that we can tell you, you know him better than we do, and to be perfectly honest with you it sounds like you are looking for a gift of all gifts...I would ask his wife, she knows him better than anyone else and she'll know what will get him where you are trying to get him (though she is probably going to frown on the whole 'stripper' idea). Wifes That's pretty funny... If you knew his wife you would definitely laugh at the stripper idea! After my 1st year of college, I came back home and took him out one night (before he had even met his wife) she figured out where we went since she had heard the "edited" version of the story. When I asked him to be my groomsmen, she said, "As long as you don't make him go to the Bachelor Party... I know you and you can't take him with you when you go to that" But i got that fixed already... lol I already had some ideas, but I just wanted to see if there was anything that some of you guys had bought or received that REALLY helps out a coach everyday, or that was "odd" when you got it, but later realized how much it helped you.
