I just wanted to share this little story with someone who knows A little about football
This Saturday during our game the opponent ran a sweep to the outside he out ran our corner to the edge and our LB came from the middle of the field and at about 2 yds he broke down keyed the ball carriers hip waited for the juke and attacked making a perfect form tackle I was so pleased that I had coached this Kid.
Then the not so good Part The head coach takes him out of the game rips him a new one and told him to never stop running again
I guess he wanted him to over run the play then reach for an arm tackle so he could really rip him a good one
My point is I have always read that if you are working for a head coach it is not if you beleive in his system but to make the best of it and try to teach the best you can.
Does that apply if the HC has no idea about defensive football ?
I dont think he ever played the Game He has coached youth for a few years mainly the younger kids but he got the head coaching job because he is freinds with the decision makers.

Thats a tough tackle to make, coming across the field like that, out in the open field, one on one.....from your description, sounds like the kid used the sidelines as his friend, kept decent leverage and did the best he could.....any tackle under these conditions would be a good tackle, lol....the only kids I've ever coached, that could run at a ball carrier nearly full speed, out in the open and make good contact....were just faster and more coordinated than the kid running the ball(that wasn't coaching, that was something the Lord made, lol)......the rest of the masses did well to be able to creep up slowly to close the ground, without getting faked out and looking stupid....kid deserves a pat on the back and a "way to go"....leave it at that! Be a good asst. coach......not a commie subversive, lol......thats a joke, by the way!

Coach, if you truly do not beleive in what he does, then you should probably leave... I've left teams before because I couldn't agree with what the head coach is doing, as a matter of fact Tuesday I'll be handing in my resignation for that very reason.
