What do you guys do when the kids are not in school on a game day? I know some of you guys have to share field and some play on Saturdays, but we have 2 inservices on Fridays this fall... and they just so happen to be our 2 biggest in state games.
We are going to get them up to the school around 8:30-9:00 take roll and show a movie, then send them home for lunch to return at 3:45 for our normal routine.

We only have one Friday without school. To make sure our players are up and not slothing around we're putting together an NCAA 2009 tournament at the school. The school is supplying TV's, the kids game systems and parents food for lunch. We're going to start with lunch at 11 and play for three of four hours (we're an 8 man schoool so our #'s aren't huge). Hopefully it's something fun and the kids don't even notice we're getting them out of bed. Of course, since myself and the majority of staff are not teachers this is much easier to make happen.

We go through this every year. We have a walk-through practice at 8:30 a.m. just to get them up and moving. Then we have them report at 3:30, just as they would on any other game day, and follow our regular game day routine.

we have done a couple of things in teh past. we try to keep them on as regular a scheudle as possible. One time, we went and visited the old folk's home and then took teh team to the movies. it worked out real well. another time, we "invaded" one of the kid's home. thier parents had ping pong tables, video games, and movies for the guys, it worked out great.

We have them show up to school by 3:30, as many as they can at 1:30 and we show them a movie and relax them.
