Something erked my while watching some NCAA football this week... (and I was wondering if I was the only one ;D)
The announcers kept on mensioning how the timing rule changes were shortening the game... and their tone of voice was implying that this was a bad thing and why would the NCAA do something that hurt the game...
Now, weren't the timing changes designed to shorten the game for TV? Isn't this the TV companies trying to make it out like its not their fault?
I'd like to think this is the announcers speaking their mind, but US TV don't work like that (e.g this season, show sponsered by a beef jerky company then in the 3rd quarter the comentators start randomly talking about how they have been eating it through the game etc)
